BLONDE BROWNIES

2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts
2/3 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs (slightly beaten)
2 tsp vanilla
1 pkg chocolate chips


To sifted flour add baking powder, salt, soda and sift again. Add nuts, melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat, add sugar (add 2 tsp. hot water if veg shortening is used). Cool. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture gradually. Spread in pan. Sprinkle Chocolate Chips over top.

Cook at 350F for 35-45 minutes.
